1. White Dress
Its like the little black dress in the summer time - defiantly a "go to" item.

2. Sprinkles!
 Because they are colorful and yummy on ice cream :)

3. Big beach hats
They add instant "beach glam"

4. Blue
 My favorite color to wear in the summer. Pretty blues like the pretty blue ocean.

5. Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss
 Once you get hooked on this lip gloss you will never buy any other kind - its the best.

6. Martinis! 
 Enough said.

 Here is DBMB's second sample piece. I'm really happy with this one.  I think its very wearable. I added the professionally taken picture as well - since my iPhone camera doesn't do it much justice.  :)

Sample Piece # 1 - Ivory Chain & Bauble Necklace

Today I wore my first piece of Designs by Mandi sample jewelry - The Ivory Chain & Bauble necklace!  Woo hoo! My entrepreneur teacher at AI always stressed that to be successful in business you must know your product inside and out.  So I figured, why not wear the product to work, as my customer would. I mean... they are sample pieces after all, why not sample them.

The necklace is pretty light weight despite all the chains and details, which I really like.  I don't like wearing a big heavy piece of jewelry all day - If I do that I usually end up taking it off by lunchtime.  It was comfortable all day, and I even got a few complements :)

OH my gosh, Blogger was not letting me post anything for about 24 hours! I was starting to freak out! Phew, I'm glad nothings broken or missing. I do, however, have another reason to freak out because...

MY SAMPLE PIECES CAME TODAY!!!

Yay! I am now confident that I have found the perfect wholesaler for Designs by Mandi Boutique. The jewelry that I got is SO great..you guys are going to love it! I'll post pictures soon. Things are slowly coming together..but I'm still taking my time with the launch.  There's still so much research, product development and marketing to do.

The Alice Affect

Alice in Wonderland came out on DVD yesterday and I'm finally getting to see it tonight.  As one of my favorite childhood stories, I have to admit I'm pretty pumped.  I was looking online at reviews and I couldn't help but fall in love with the costumes in this film.

The movie has inspired the "Alice Affect" which has impacted the fashion industry immensely.

Travel Photography

New Orleans Architecture

I was so inspired by the lovely town houses with french colonial architecture during my first walk through the French Quarter that I couldn't help but stop every couple of minutes to snap another picture. While doing this I got the idea to start collecting photos from Ryan and my travels, convert them to black and white and hang them all over the house.  Why put someone else's art on the wall when you can put your own?

Taylor Swift

I was super excited to see T-Swift, but I have to say, I was really disappointed in her show.  It was very theatrical, and she seemed reallly fake. Also, during the whole show she did this weird "look" thing, where she would look at the audience for like 2 minutes -- just standing there! It was like she was on something. Very weird. Love the sparkle dress though!

Jake Owen

He was barefoot the whole time, and had lots of energy. I'm usually not a big fan of guys in flowered shirts but Jake somehow pulls this look off.  Something about him is just HOT.

Jason Aldean

Big Green Tractor! He was great. Very cute country boy.

Kenny Chesney
He was even better than I expected. Definitely my favorite performance of the weekend.

Keith Urban

Keith ROCKED. Seriously.... he is amazing on that guitar.

Hello everyone! I'm back from New Orleans! Wow... what a trip! I will have to write about it all later, because I'm swamped with work, but I have to say..I missed blogging SO much!

Cozy Up with a Summer Scarf

I LOVE summer scarfs.  I wear one almost every day.  I think they are great in the summer because you can easily pull them off if you get hot, but they also keep you warm when your at the office and they have the AC cranked up to the arctic setting. Mandi Goes to the Dark Side

I got my hair done yesterday, and..well, its pretty dark! I wanted it this way though since I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the sun over the weekend thanks to my New Orleans vaca. Here's how it looks today..we will see how much it lightens up when I come back :)

I'm sad to say there wont be too many posts from me this week. I'm going to be leaving for New Orleans on Thursday morning.  I'll be spending the next few days at the casino, enjoying some beverages on Bourbon St, attending country concerts (so excited to see my girl Taylor Swift) and Friday I'll be spending the whole day on a deserted island. Seriously... we are going to an island where there is nothing. I'm going to feel like I'm on Lost. I'm super excited.
